Status: Star Citizen when it's working is a very immersive game. However, it can be very buggy and downright unplayable at times. They made some decent progress in 2025 for quality. There are many quality of life improvements needed for the game; too many to list here.
My general philosophy with MMOs in a pre-alpha, alpha, beta, early access state is to play the game to understand it, learn it mechanics and decide if this is something I would be interested in playing upon it's release. I really enjoy Star Citizen and the potential direction it can be headed. Additionally, there are concerns in some of the other directions as well.
I plan to keep playing Star Citizen but not as much as I have during the first half of 2025. I believe I have a good feel for the game so now it's about checking out new features and functionality.
The big items I'm waiting for
- Crafting
- Base Building
- Player Economy
- Proper reputations
- Instance Content
Items of concern
- Quality of the Game, exploits, etc...
- Proper risk for PvPing in secure areas
- RNG on big items such as ships for the Wikelo missions
- Ships components for sell for real money
- The constant balancing of ships in favor of new ships
- Delivering new ships instead of fixing already sold ships
